Grand Tour of Switzerland in Japan
The concept of the design comes from the flags of the two nations. I have utilized various elements of the flags as guiding icons.
Both Swiss and Japanese flags are red and white, but the colors of the featured symbols (the cross and the sun) and the background are reversed. I took this difference as a way for the viewer to be able to distinguish the two guides: Switzerland in Japan would employ white background and red icons, whereas Japan in Swiss would be featured in pages that are designed with red background and white icons. Also the basic icons for Japan would be a circle, and a square for Switzerland.
Partial use of the Swiss cross (in 9 configurations, for the 9 topics) are used as guides for the users. I have employed the pieces, as keys or hints that help the user to make discoveries about Switzerland in Japan.
